Let's skate !

Every day in 'Pedio tou Areos ' (see the previus post : the status of godness Athina) the appearance of teenagers and their skate-board itsn't a quaint sight!However the skateboarders complain about the lack of
places .I think that they have right . 

The windmill .

I wanted to show you another (last) photo from Alonissos but it was very difficult to choose ...I prefer to posted a windmill .Windmill is a symbol of Greek islands , so what about a combination between a sunset and a windmill? 

From the bottom of the sea .

It is not so close to Athens , but it is an island that you have to visit.
I am talking about Alonissos island .An island mostly known for it crystal green-blue waters and it rare species of monk seal monachous- monachous.

Paint the town red !

It is a trolley depot in Gazi area very close to the centre of Athens .It was an 'ugly' building , completely careless .
Look at it now !
The last years there are some artists teams making 'lifting ' in the capital.I find their work great and I wanted to share it with you.

A different view from Athens .I shot this photo yesterday night.This road belongs to a dispreputable distict called Metaxourgio.Someone has the great idea to put at this old forsaken house a habitat by metal .When I first saw this building I was little bit afraid but this man makes the people laugh and brings life to the building .

The statue of goddess Athina .

Have you ever imagined why the capital of Greece is named Athens?
Goddess Athina shows you the reason ,as she was the proctetress of the ancient city .You can find her statue at the park called 'Pedio tou Aeros 'near the centre.Athina is the war of wisdom and war .That's why she is holding a shield .How the ancient Greeks combined the wisdom and the war ?
Nowadays is not possible!

Poros part III .

This is villa Galini. Galini stands for calmness. This is the place were the 1963 Nobel Prize winner in Literature Giorgos Seferis used to spend his time away from the urban 'noise', devoting himself in Literature and Poetry. This house is located at the beach Neorio close to the port of Paros.

Poros part II .

Today I have more pictures from Poros island . Le voila! I took the first photo from the ferry , just 5 minutes before we reach the coast and the second photo shows an old traditionnal house of the capital .

It takes two hours from Piraeus to reach the port of Poros island .These days I will post some pictures of the island .Propably I will be there on Sunday .It has many picturesque villages to visit and a lovely capital !

Step by Step .

Just yesterday I posted a photo from National Garden .Let me show you our Votanical Garden now! Situated in a region called Xaidari , this garden is an oasis.It offers hospitality to many kinds of birds and rare trees and plants.I love this place and I wanted to share it with you.Step by Step is a game for the kids -visitors ,the secret is to jump!
