Today we celebrate our NO.

It was 28 october of 1940, when the Italian
ambassador to Athens, Gratsi went to the home
of the president I. Metaxa, asked for free entrance
of the Italian forces on to Greece.
He immediately gave a negative reply
and with him the Hellenic people answered "oxi"(no).
The war began, the sirens sound, the enemy planes
flew over the skies of Greece, and
the Italian army was on Greek land.
After many fights the day of freedom
came in October of 1944.
Photos from the brass band of the Athens municipality.

ΖΗΤΩ ΤΟ ΕΘΝΟΣ :)
you could have also mentioned how the Italians were incapable of occupying Greece, which led Hitler to change his plans as he had to get the job done himself.

Great photos! Sounds like a good thing to celebrate! The reflections in the instruments are very nice.
